I am excited for the time when I can be closer than 6ft away from people, be outside, go run errands that are non-essential, and not wear medical masks. Don't get me wrong, I am still going to try and make the best during this time. However, I am going to be excited and hope for the things that are yet to come.
I saw a few of these "post-quarantine bucket lists" trending and I thought I'd jump on the train! Here is a list of a few things I am looking forward to after all this has died down.
1. Road trip to the Carlsbad Flower Fields
If you haven't seen or heard of these link the link and see how beautiful these fields are. I have never been, but I've always had it on a to do list and after this long awaited time I am ready to go. I mean think of the wonderful smells, think of the vibrant colors, think of the instagram photos! This is about 30 minutes away from where we live so it would be a mistake not to go.
2. Classic dinner and a movie date night
My husband loves movie dates, they have become a staple in our relationship. So a classic dinner and movie date is essential. It most likely will be the first thing we do to be honest
3. Beach day!!!
For someone who lives so close to the beach I never go. I know, I'm the worst, I don't deserve it! Now that I cannot go whenever I please, I will definitely be making more of an effort.
4. Throw a PARTY!
I am an extrovert so this being alone and inside all the time is not working for me. I love being around people and hosting, so I can't wait to have a little get together with some of our friends. Playing some music, grilling some meats, and laughing with friends sounds good to be right about now!
5. Go on a trip (anywhere but my apartment)
I would love to have a weekend getaway. I am not sure if that possible even most quarantine depending on my husband work schedule, but a girl can dream right? I'm thinking of going to Big Bear or maybe even Anaheim (aka Disney)!
6. Go to Church
I am so grateful for online church and being able to stay connected to community during this time. I will also say I am so excited to have fellowship, in person and be around everyone (remember extrovert dying over here!).
7. Tower tour at Balboa Park
Of course I heard of this right before COVID-19 hit! As soon as it's over I want to go on this tour and get the perfect view of the city. If you're a fellow San Diegan or plan on visiting, I'd check this out. It's the tallest tower in Balboa park and you walk to the top and see the best views in San Diego. Every time I've gone to Balboa Park I've said I wish we could go inside that tour and go to the top... little did I know I COULD!
8. Go thrifting
I really look forward to shopping, but especially thrifting. I grew up thrifting out of necessity, but I ended up continuing to thrift out of loving it. I would love to get some new clothes, maybe even make a date out of it and have my husband and I pick out each others outfits! I also love getting home decor from thrift store and restoring or turning them into something new. This feeds my craft/DIY desires!
Most of all I want as many people to be safe and healthy during and after this time of COVID-19. We will get past this and we will do more than survive, we can thrive. Let's be supportive to ourselves and others. Let's keep hope alive, whether that's through staying content with the present or making hopeful post-quarantine bucket lists. We all process our own ways, so lets be gracious towards people around us and how they deal with the way this is affecting them.
I would love to see your Post-Quarantine Bucket List if you make one! Let me know what you think of blog post in the comments below, I'd love to hear from you.
