I think it so important to love the space where you live and one of the ways I do that is through decorating. I love creating cozy atmospheres through home decor. So you can imagine how much negotiating my husband has to do with me when we are in Hobby Lobby or Target. Plus, those are my favorite stores so he has his work cut out for him.
I wanted to share a couple ways I spruced up our apartment with some faux stems without breaking the bank and without cluttering our tiny space. I found these from the Bullseyes Playground section in Target for $1 a piece but I got them on sale for 50% off so that deal is hard to beat! I got three and put one in a vase as a centerpiece for a countertop coming off of our kitchen.
The other two I put inside of some lanterns I got on clearance from Kohls back in December.
Personally, I like how simply one stem per vase looks and I was very happy to have some life to brighten up the place through greenery.
Another stem I got from target was this large fern stem and now I wish I would've gotten more than one! It looks way better than I imagined in the store so next time I'm back there I will be looking for it. This stem was $3 so I only paid $1.50 because it was 50% off, call me bargain girl because I am getting those deals! I love how it droops over, I would even like to get more and put them in hanging pots.
These next stems I got from Hobby Lobby are Lambs Ear stems. I liked these because they are a bit of a softer green and these stems added some needed texture to the space. I have these dispersed around our living room in pots and added a faux baby's breath stems to each. I don't remember the price of these, but I'm thinking they were $1.99 and I got them on a 50% off as well as the last ones! ANOTHER STEAL!
I've had this mini eucalyptus wreath since my freshman year in college, but I'm pretty sure I got it from Bullseye's Playground section in Target (I know, you must be so surprised!!). I used this wreath to replace a cheesy looking clock that came with the letters H,M,E.
Last but not least I ordered these faux tulips from Amazon and I was blown away with how cute they are in person! This came in a pack of 20 and they come in all different colors, but I ordered white because I figured that would blend best in the space. I put them in a wicker basket I also got from Amazon and placed them on our dinner table.
Those are just a few ways I've been able to brighten up the place for spring/summer! Real plants and flowers are great and I want to invest in them someday, but I'm not ready for that kind of responsibility and commitment yet (says the girl who just got married!). I like faux stems because they are the lowest of low maintenance and they still add the same liveliness of real plants.
When I shop for faux greenery I try to look for softer greens, they look more natural to me than the cheesy bright green stems. I think texture also has a big role in faux stems I like to see the textured edges on faux leaves because that's what they would look like if they were real plants. Those are some tips if you are looking for faux greenery for your home or even outside on a patio or yard!
I hope you enjoyed reading about all my favorite faux stems and apartment decorations! Let me know if you are a real plant person or a faux plant person. I'd also love to here where you like to find your plants (real or fake).
I really like your choices in faux flora. Nice placement also. You are so creative,,keep on keepin' on..Love
