Easter is only a week away so let's make an easter basket together. I must admit this is the first Easter basket I'm putting together as a new mom and I am so excited! Even if my baby is only a few months old and might not remember, I think it is so valuable to start traditions young. I know Easter always felt like a special time to me as a child. I remember we dressed up for church, had Easter egg hunts and got Easter baskets. These are traditions I wish to have in place for my daughter, so I can be intentional and make memories with her.
I will share more broad categories for Easter basket ideas and then share what I specifically got. That way it can be easy to customize to the age and individual you are making the basket for.
First things first we need a basket. There were so many options, but I ended up going with this smaller Easter basket from Hobby Lobby (40% off). Depending on the size of the basket you may want to also get some stuffing to fill it out.
I think you should have a staple item/tradition you include in your Easter basket. For my family, I love the idea of Pj's in every Easter basket. However, this can be anything, it can be nice Easter Sunday clothes, a stuffed animal, or anything that is special to your family.
Next include an educational item, for example, I got a children's book about a farm and lamb to keep the Easter theme. You could also do puzzles, learning cards, and so much more.
Then add in a creative item. This could be coloring books, crafts, paints, or something they build. Since my little one is still so small I got her some toy stuffed carrots she could eventually play garden with when she's older.
You can fill in the rest of the basket with accessory items, like sunglasses, hats, bunny ears, or jewelry. Basically, any small thing the individual would like. I got the cutest heart-shaped sunglasses, an adjustable sun hat, and baby crocs.
Now you may be thinking to yourself, "But Kiana where is the candy? the chocolate bunny? the peeps?" If you must add candy, then you must. It is just not my style. You could include sweets in your accessory items or create a whole new category and include Sweet Treats in every basket.
I split these easter basket items into categories so it is easy to be purposeful in what I put inside. 5 items may seem small, but when they are intentional it makes shopping easier and receiving way more special. Remember all you need is your staple, an educational item, a creative item, extra accessories, and a sweet treat. These are my easy and intentional Easter basket items and I hope it helps you make a purposeful and memorable basket for your loved ones. I loved making my first-ever Easter basket with you! Let me know if you enjoyed this post and comment to let me know what you are including in your easter baskets this year.
