Happy Blog-iversary!

Is a Blog-iversary a thing? Well if it is, I've been here blogging for a whole year now. I thought I'd share some of my experiences and dreams when it comes to this little blog of mine.

I launched this blog at the start of the pandemic in hopes to share my creativity and inspire readers. To be transparent there were a few times where I stopped posting out of fear that what I said didn't matter nor did people care. I also got caught up comparing myself to other bloggers I look up to who have been doing this for 5+ years whereas I am just starting out. I basically convinced myself I was trying to be someone I could never achieve to be.

Even if you don't have a blog I'm sure we can all relate in some way of falling to comparison and fearing what others think. Fortunately, I am blessed with very encouraging people in my life and I am very grateful for them supporting and pushing me to continue doing something I enjoy.

Things I've learned blogging:

If you are thinking about starting a blog or are in the beginning stages of one I would encourage you to push past that fear and comparison because it wastes time and the best part of you having a blog is that it is not like anyone else because IT IS YOUR VOICE! And maybe someone needs to hear what you have to share.

I also recommend scheduling regular posts and trying your best to stay consistent, this gives you and your audience structure! I have definitely struggled with this while having other jobs, but it is one of my goals to get back to posting weekly.

Goals:

Having regular weekly blog posts for you to read

Rebranding the blog (new logo, color scheme, more niche-specific)

Expanding and adding to the website (*fingers crossed* a shop of my own handcrafted home decor)

To be honest I feel very vulnerable sharing this little behind the scenes of the blog. Maybe because I don't want everyone to see the struggles or I don't want you to know my dreams just in case they don't happen. However, I am sharing this despite that fear because I want to encourage you to go after what you want to do and how can I do that without doing it myself.

I hope you enjoyed reading a little about the Kiana Mason Blog, the things I've learned, and my goals. I hope you are looking forward to the improvements here at kianamasonblog.com just like I am! If you are wanting to go for something, but feel like the risk is too scary, take this as the sign to do it. Happy Blog-iversary from the KianaMason Blog and thank you for a year of reading!

I'm so glad you didn't quit! I enjoy reading your blog and it's actually made me think I might want to start one. I especially enjoy your diy and crafty posts because I love to try to recreate them. I will definitely be one of your followers as you continue your blogging journey ❤
